I wrote for Heritage India magazine from 2010 to 2015 as a freelance writer, covering a wide range of topics including heritage, culture, and the environment. The editor, Manjiri Khandekar, gave me—a young writer at the time—a chance to prove myself as an author, even though I did not have an academic background or much experience. In many ways, Heritage India shaped my research and writing style. I am forever grateful and still remember the pride I felt seeing my name in print for the first time, in such a prestigious magazine.
